My first reaction is I’m gonna be sick. However you never know how it will turn out. What bothers me is the reaching for guys constantly. If you want to reach for a guy, maybe trade down in the draft. Sounds like this kid could have been taken in the 5th round. Just not smart asset management by Don in my opinion.
Also, did they just fire all their Canadian scouting? Every player is from a US college.
Dons track record is very suspect. The one year he reaches for Trent Frederic in front of Sam Steel and Debrincat.

Most draft grades only take into account just who you picked, not where you selected them, so the Bruins weren't going to get a good grade regardless with what picks they had (avg. selection was pk120). But yeah, not a good draft. That's not surprising to any of us when we selected on avg at 120.

It almost seems like the Bruins are always out to prove "our scouts are better than yours". Consistently reaching under Don. I don't get it...

I really like what Calgary did in the 1st round. As an organization, don’t have a need for the player at pick 19 so trade down twice to 22 and 24 and pick up (2) 3rd round picks.
You can’t tell me there wasn’t a deal out there to trade down and accumulate more picks if you want to take a kid ranked 132nd, and that is just North America ranked. If that’s true, he probably was a bubble player to even get drafted at all.

I want to have faith in Don, but his drafting is terrible. I get it, maybe to early to tell on his picks and he has had years with little to work with in terms of picks.
Mccavoy was a gimme and Studnicka was a great pick. Outside of that, yeeesh!

I don’t get it either.
Not even talking about 2015. Every panel on the planet couldn’t believe Barzal was hanging around. The following year he could have grabbed Debrincat or Steel! They were studs. Canadian Junior player of the year and Western Hockey League player of the year.

Lol, for good reason. At least all these guys are taller. They will all need to bulk up some more (particularly the 5th rounder...geez 6'2" 165lbs!!!)

Guess we are trying to field "Team USA"?

Probably could of traded down, received extra picks & got this guy a few rounds later.
